Cheat Sheet: camera settings for perfect Meet & Greet photos

If you’re reading this you already know that fans LOVE meeting their favorite artist, and pay quite a bit for the opportunity. Our goal is to be sure their memory endures with professional quality prints, canvas wraps and more. To do that, the photos themselves need to sharp, well lit and shot at a high resolution. Here are a few simple camera settings that will ensure a perfect, print-ready photo.

  • Set white balance to AUTO.
  • Set ISO as low as possible, and no higher than 1600.
  • Set shutter speed to 1/80 second or faster.
  • Set exposure compensation between +1 and +2.
  • Use an external flash or speedlight.
  • Diffuse the flash with an umbrella or softbox, or bounce the light off the ceiling.
  • Use a tripod.
